What's better than one Red Velvet cupcake? Three Red Velvet cucakes! June 24, 2011 |
We are proud to announce three new additions to our menu:
Hazelnut Café—A delicious new wake-up call for coffee lovers-- a rich and moist hazelnut cake topped with a sexy espresso buttercream and completed with just a pinch of espresso. White Velvet—This tender cupcake joins our Black Velvet as an additional vegan and gluten-free option. A sweet vanilla 'buttercream' completes this luxurious vanilla bean cake. Northern Beauty—Just as classy and elegant as our Southern Belle, but with a distinct break from the norm. We took the classic and made it delightfully sugar free for a reduced-guilt treat.
One day of huge sales and shopping? We couldn't resist. Check out the "May 1st" event here!

September 29, 2009 |Washington
Commencing his commitment to cupcakes, Andre stopped into Red Velvet in
September of 2009 with NBC 4’s Lindsay Czarniak to claim
glory off the court and in the kitchen. Working with head baker
Brittany Frick, Andre honed his baking talent and perfected the art of
frosting a ‘cake. It’s no surprise that following his visit, Andre
continued to engage with both Red Velvet and the larger community in
extending the joy – and art – of cupcakes. You can watch Andre take
Red Velvet by storm below.

Canada Gordon has always had a crush on cupcakes, and Ceiba's original pastry chef, David Guas, shares a similar affinity for the dainty desserts. They've opened Red Velvet, a lovely little place to spend a date and grab a sugar high. Try the Morning Call, a chocolate espresso cake with mocha butter cream. Devil's food-chocolate buttermilk cake with bittersweet chocolate ganache is sinfully satisfying; the Peanut Butter Cup, a chocolate chocolate-chip cake dolloped with salted peanut butter frosting is a textural marvel of sweet and salty. And the Southern Belle is the, well, belle of the ball: A red velvet cake with whipped cream cheese frosting; it's simple, elegant and too scrumptious for words. 675 E St. NW; 202-347-7895. read article
